The Episcopal Day School at the Church of the Good Samaritan in Paoli, PA serves approximately 300 preschool and kindergarten children and 50 toddlers and parents in classes ranging between ten and twenty students.
The twenty teachers are certified early childhood educators, many with advanced degrees.
Each class has an assistant. Every year the staff participates in training workshops.
Recent sessions focused on topics such as first aid and CPR, early literacy, mathematics concepts for young children, language development, differences in the play of boys and girls, problem solving with young children, and handling separation issues.
The school is licensed as a Private Academic School by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Children in the Day School participate in a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Experiences are planned to foster cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth.
Thematic units at each age level encourage children to experiment with art, science, social studies, literacy, music, and movement activities.
Every session includes indoor and outdoor play, snack and circle time.
Children have opportunities to develop specific skills in library, movement and music programs.
All children enrolled in the school participate in weekly chapel services led by the clergy staff of the Church of the Good Samaritan.
