He is the author of eight books of fiction, translation, poetry, and philosophy. He is the founding editor of Joie de Vivre: A Journal of Art, Culture, and Letters for South Louisiana. He lives with his wife, Grace, and his four children in Metairie.The academic and ethical formation I received at Lake Castle has been critical to everything Ive done since. - Jennifer Tran, 2018 | New York, NY - After graduating Lake Castle in 2018, Jennifer Tran attended Benjamin Franklin High School, where she graduated the salutatorian of her class and was awarded the Key Award. She is currently a student at New York University with a major in Biology and minor in Creative Writing.As a pre-dental student, Jennifer is constantly challenged in her STEM courses, but because of her involvement in math competitions at Lake Castle, she learned at a young age how to critically think and look at problems in different perspectives. Her love for classic novels and strong foundation of grammar were fostered at this elementary school, allowing her to articulate her ideas sophisticatedly and be the expressive writer she is. One of her proudest achievements is being a College Leader at NYU, where she mentors first year students and serves as a teaching assistant.Even though speaking in front of a large group of strangers may be intimidating at times, all the presentations and speeches shes given throughout her years at Lake Castle have prepared her to carry herself with confidence. As of now, Jennifer is enjoying all that New York City has to offer her and is preparing to apply to dental school in the near future.
- Jacqueline Delery Wattigny, 2000 | New Orleans, LA - Jacqueline Delery Wattigny is a 2000 graduate of Lake Castle 17勛圖 in New Orleans. At Lake Castle, she was honored with the Clendon J. Butera Award in 1999 and was named Valedictorian in 2000, After Lake Castle, Jacqueline attended Mount Carmel Academy on a scholarship award and graduated with honors. She then attended Louisiana State Universitys Honors College, from which she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2008 At LSU, Jacqueline was extensively involved in campus life, including serving as Speaker Pro Tempore of LSUs Student Senate.After completing her degree in Political Science from LSU, Jacqueline was awarded an academic scholarship to Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. At Loyola, she was honored to be made a member of the Colleges most prestigious publication, the Loyola Law Review. Since graduating with her Juris Doctorate in 2011, Jacqueline has worked as a judicial law clerk at the Twenty-Fourth Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson.In addition to her work as an attorney, Jacqueline has maintained her community involvement. She volunteered for several years with Lake Castles dance team, for which she coined the name Blue Angels. Notably, Jacqueline was named Miss New Orleans in 2013. As Miss New Orleans, she volunteered her time to many local events and charity fundraisers.Jacqueline has been married to Paul Wattigny, Jr., since 2014, and they share two young children. She is also the daughter of Terry Delery, who has distinguished herself as an educator at Lake Castle for over 30 years. Jacqueline believes that Lake Castles commitment to academic excellence and deep appreciation for the importance of family formed her into a person who strives for excellence in all aspects of her life, and she is tremendously grateful to have received an elementary education of the highest quality.
