Develop individual and group lesson plan for each student based on the three year cycle for a Montessori Primary classroom. Guide children''s academic, spiritual, social and emotional learning through purposeful work and social interaction to reach their fullest potential. Provide a safe and caring environment that stimulates children''s love of learning in a prepared Montessori classroom environment. Responsibilities & Duties On a daily basis, prepare classroom readiness for student learning. Montessori and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd materials for each area of the classroom should be attractive, orderly and complete. Maintain seasonal and relevant curriculum throughout the academic year. Assess areas for safety for children and staff. Observe, develop and implement individual educational plan for each child designed to prepare student for the next educational level. Model and nurture caring relationships for fuller participation in the Christian community. Work with children at tables or on the floor, individually, in small or large group gatherings. Use observation to keep accurate student records, attendance and assessments throughout the academic year. Log all lesson planning and record keeping into the transparent classroom, at least once a week. Maintain caring and confidential relationships with students and parents. Conference with parents twice per year and other times as needed. Communicate with families via a monthly newsletter(s), conference reports, telephone and email. Share in the responsibility for the safety and physical well-being of the children in the classroom and playground at all times. Keep children under auditory and visual supervision. Immediately prepare a written report to be given to the director for all accidents stating date, time, nature of accident, and action taken. Follow Washington State Licensing procedures for licensed childcare for preschool age children. Develop caring relationships with staff. Good Shepherd''s guidelines and Montessori philosophy and methodology should be used when training, overseeing and directing staff duties in the classroom. Conduct annual evaluation of assistants.

We are looking for a teacher with some classroom experience, and would love it if you had training in early childhood education, to work with our children and families. This position requires teacher to have or get the Initial 12 credit certificate in ECE. Teachers are able to apply for a Early Acheivers Schoolarship and classes can be completed online.
